Default Venomancer Help

I just made my first venomancer and I was wondering how do I build my character. I would like a mage-type build. Please Help.

As far as points, you can go completely mage type: 1 str 4 mag on odd levels and all 5 points into mag on even levels. While I found this build is great for a wizard, it is less optimal for the veno. Yes, your heals will be stronger, but if you like to throw the occasional attack in you have a greater risk of pulling aggro away from your pet.

Personally, I would take two (1-3 works) of those magic points (out of the nine total allocated above) and toss them into vit. You'll still be a mage-type, but the additional hit points will allow you to not die quite so quickly while not suffering too much in the damage reduction department.

Your build would then look something like: 1str 1 vit 3 mag odd levels; (0-2) vit (3-5) mag on even levels. Maybe stop adding vit around 70-80 points.

Just remember, you will need at least one str and 6 mag every two levels to use your weapons and armor. The remaining 3 points can be split how you like.

Good luck!
